Account Deletion Policy

At Tengos AI, we respect your right to control your personal data. This page explains how you can request deletion of your account and what happens to your data when you do.
1. How to Request Account Deletion
You can request deletion of your Tengos AI account through any of the following methods:
- In-app: Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account, then confirm your request.
- By email: Send a deletion request to contact@tengos.ai from the email address associated with your account.
- Contact support: Reach out to our support team and request account deletion.
For security purposes, we may ask you to verify your identity before processing the deletion request.
2. Deletion Timeline
Once your deletion request is confirmed, the following timeline applies:
- Your account will be deactivated immediately upon confirmation.
- A 30-day grace period begins, during which you can cancel the deletion by logging back in.
- After the 30-day grace period, permanent deletion of your data will begin.
- Complete data removal from all systems, including backups, will be finalized within 60 days after the grace period ends (up to 90 days from the initial request).
3. Data That Will Be Permanently Deleted
The following data will be permanently and irreversibly deleted:
- Your account profile information (name, email, avatar, preferences)
- Authentication credentials and linked OAuth tokens (e.g., Google sign-in)
- Audio recordings, transcripts, and translations you created
- AI-generated summaries, meeting notes, and action items
- Custom glossaries and terminology settings
- Room configurations and participant history
- Usage history and activity logs
- Subscription and billing relationship (payment method details held by Stripe will be removed from our records)
4. Data That May Be Retained
Certain data may be retained even after account deletion, as required by law or legitimate business needs:
- Transaction and invoice records: Retained for up to 7 years for tax, accounting, and legal compliance purposes.
- Anonymized and aggregated analytics data: Data that has been fully anonymized and cannot be linked back to you may be retained for service improvement.
- Legal hold data: If your data is subject to an active legal proceeding, regulatory investigation, or dispute, it will be preserved until the matter is resolved.
- Abuse and fraud prevention records: Minimal records may be retained to prevent repeat abuse or fraud.
Retained data is stored securely and used only for the purposes stated above. It will not be used for marketing or shared with third parties beyond legal requirements.
5. What Happens After Deletion
Once your account is permanently deleted:
- You will no longer be able to log in or access any Tengos AI services.
- Any active subscriptions will be cancelled and no further charges will be made.
- Shared content (e.g., transcripts shared with other users) may remain accessible to those users, but your personal identifying information will be removed.
- You will need to create a new account if you wish to use Tengos AI again in the future.
- Previously used email addresses can be used to register a new account after deletion is complete.
6. Cancel a Deletion Request
If you change your mind within the 30-day grace period, simply log in to your account. Your deletion request will be automatically cancelled, and your account and data will be fully restored. After the 30-day grace period has expired, deletion cannot be reversed.
