Tengos stores different types of data for different lengths of time. Understanding the retention policy helps you manage your meeting history and stay in control of what is kept on your account.
Default retention periods

Configuring auto-delete for audio recordings
You can set audio recordings to delete automatically after a defined period from Settings > Privacy & Data.
Available auto-delete options:
- Immediately after the recording ends (for temporary meetings)
- After a set number of hours or days
- After 1 year
- Never — keep recordings indefinitely
Steps to configure auto-delete
- Go to Settings > Privacy & Data.
- Find the Auto-Delete Audio Recordings setting.
- Select your preferred retention period from the dropdown.
- Click Save to apply.
Deleted meetings and Trash
When you delete a meeting, it moves to Trash and is held for 30 days before being permanently removed.
- Restore any meeting from Trash within 30 days by clicking Restore.
- Delete Permanently to remove a meeting from Trash immediately.
- Empty Trash to permanently delete all trashed meetings at once.
Notes
- Transcripts and translations are retained indefinitely and are not affected by audio auto-delete settings.
