In Multi-Speaker meetings, the host has access to participant controls through the Participants Panel. Each participant joins from their own device via a shared meeting link, and Tengos labels each speaker separately in the transcript.
Before you begin
- Participant management is only available in Multi-Speaker mode.
- You must be the host (the person who created the meeting) to access these controls.
Participants Panel
Open the Participants Panel during a live Multi-Speaker meeting to view and manage everyone in the session.
Available actions:
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| View participants | See a list of all active participants in the meeting |
| Mute a participant | Silence an individual participant's microphone |
| Unmute a participant | Re-enable a participant's microphone |
| Search participants | Filter the list by name to find a specific participant quickly |
Speaker identification
Tengos automatically identifies and labels each speaker in the transcript. Each participant's name appears next to their spoken segments, making it easy to follow who said what throughout the meeting.
- Speaker labels are assigned as participants join the meeting
- Labels appear in real time alongside each transcript segment
- No manual configuration is required
Notes
- The host's microphone cannot be muted by other participants.
- A maximum of 3 microphones can be active simultaneously in a Multi-Speaker session. Additional participants can join but cannot speak simultaneously beyond this limit.
- Participants are visible with a Viewer badge if they joined via a shared link without a Tengos account.
Tips
- Ask participants to use their real name when joining — this makes speaker labels in the transcript more useful.
- Use the search function in the Participants Panel to quickly locate a specific participant in large sessions.
