Tengos tracks your usage across transcription, file uploads, AI Summaries, and Text-to-Speech (TTS) hours. Quota indicators keep you informed of your remaining capacity throughout the month.
What is tracked
| Quota Type | Where It's Shown |
|---|---|
| Transcription minutes | Displayed during an active meeting |
| TTS hours | Low-quota warning banner in the meeting view |
| File upload capacity | Shown during file upload (Analyze Recording) |
| AI Summary credits | Tracked in Settings > Billing |
Monitoring your usage
- Go to Settings > Billing.
- Your current usage for each quota type is displayed alongside the monthly limit for your plan.
During meetings, remaining transcription minutes and TTS hours are shown in the meeting interface — so you're never caught off guard mid-session.
What happens when a quota is reached
When you reach a quota limit, Tengos displays a quota exhaustion modal explaining what has been reached and presenting your options.
| Quota Reached | Immediate Option | Permanent Solution |
|---|---|---|
| TTS quota | Switch to Browser TTS (free, no quota used) | Purchase a TTS Add-On Pack or upgrade your plan |
| Transcription minutes | Wait for the next billing cycle reset | Purchase a Usage Booster Pack or upgrade your plan |
| File upload quota | Wait for the next billing cycle reset | Purchase a Usage Booster Pack or upgrade your plan |
| AI Summary credits | Wait for the next billing cycle reset | Upgrade your plan |
Text-to-Speech engines
Tengos offers two TTS engines:
| Engine | Cost | Quality |
|---|---|---|
| Premium TTS | Uses your monthly TTS quota | High quality, natural voice |
| Browser TTS | Free — no quota consumed | Standard browser voice |
Switch between engines at any time from the TTS settings panel during a meeting. If your Premium TTS quota runs out, switching to Browser TTS lets you continue without interruption.
Notes
- Quotas reset at the start of each billing cycle.
- Max and Enterprise plan usage is subject to the Tengos fair use policy.
