Tengos AI

Language preferences

Tengos lets you configure both the app's display language and your default meeting language settings. Setting these upfront saves time every time you start a new meeting.

App display language

Change the language of the Tengos interface itself — menus, buttons, and navigation labels.

  1. Go to Settings > Profile (or Preferences, depending on your app version).
  2. Find the Display Language setting.
  3. Select your preferred language from the list. Tengos supports 14 interface languages.
  4. The change applies immediately — no page reload required.

Dark mode

Toggle between dark and light themes to suit your environment.

  • Go to Settings > Profile.
  • Toggle Dark Mode on or off.
  • This preference is saved per device, so each device can have a different theme.

Default meeting language settings

Set default source and target languages so you don't have to configure them manually each time you start a meeting.

  1. Go to Settings > Preferences.
  2. Configure the following:
SettingDescription
Default Source LanguageThe language being spoken — selected automatically when you start a new meeting
Default Target LanguageThe language you want translations delivered in
Auto-detectTengos detects the spoken language automatically — useful for multilingual environments
Translation directionFrom → To for one-way translation, or Between for bidirectional conversations
  1. Click Save to apply.

Tips

  • Use Auto-detect if participants frequently switch between languages in the same session.
  • Set the translation direction to Between for interpreter-style two-language conversations.

Notes

  • Display language and meeting language are independent settings. Changing one does not affect the other.
  • Dark mode is stored locally on each device. If you use Tengos on multiple devices, set the preference separately on each.
