Live Conversation

Live Conversation is designed for single-speaker or two-person sessions. It starts instantly — no invitations, no setup, no waiting room.

  • Real-time transcription and translation displayed side by side
  • Supports one-on-one interpretation mode
  • Ideal when both parties are in the same room or on a call together

How to start:

  1. From the Home dashboard, click Live Conversation.
  2. Allow microphone access when prompted by your browser.
  3. Select your source language and target language.
  4. Click Start.

Multi-Speaker

Multi-Speaker mode is built for group sessions where multiple participants are joining from their own devices. Each speaker is labeled separately in the transcript.

  • Supports multiple active microphones simultaneously
  • Automatic speaker identification — each participant is labeled in the transcript
  • Host controls included (mute/unmute, participant management)
  • Participants join via a shared meeting link from their own devices

How to start:

  1. From the Home dashboard, click Multi-Speaker.
  2. Configure your language settings.
  3. Copy the meeting link and share it with participants.
  4. Click Start Recording when ready.

Analyze Recording

Use this mode to upload and transcribe an existing audio or video file — a recorded lecture, podcast episode, previous call, or any other media.

  • An AI summary is generated automatically after the file is processed
  • No live session required

Supported file formats: MP3, WAV, MP4, AAC, OGG, WEBM, MPEG

How to use:

  1. From the Home dashboard, click Analyze Recording.
  2. Drag and drop your file into the upload area, or click Choose File to browse.
  3. Select the language of the recording.
  4. Click Upload & Transcribe and wait for processing to complete.

Note: File size limits vary by plan. Check Settings > Billing for your current upload quota.

Online Conversation

Online Conversation captures audio directly from a browser tab — without disrupting your meeting. It works alongside Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Slack, and any other browser-based meeting tool.

  • Requires the Tengos Chrome Extension
  • Transcription and translation run in the Side Panel while your meeting continues in the main window

How to use:

  1. Install the Tengos Chrome Extension from the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Open your online meeting in Chrome.
  3. Click the Tengos extension icon in your browser toolbar.
  4. Select Online Conversation.
  5. Click Start and grant tab audio sharing permission when prompted.
  6. Your transcript appears in the Side Panel in real time.

Notes

  • Online Conversation requires Chrome 116 or higher.
  • A maximum of 3 microphones can be active simultaneously in Multi-Speaker mode.
